Tron Mainnet Accounts Exceeds Those Of EOS

Tron released its Virtual Machine on August 31. Additionally, Tron Foundation, headed by Tron’s founder Justin Sun has acquired BitTorrent, a P2P file sharing protocol. The Foundation is working hard to achieve its objective of decentralizing the internet.

Yesterday, Sun announced that Tron mainnet now has more account holders than EOS, a much hyped platform, which launched its mainnet in June.

A look at the respective blockchain explorers (trxplorer.io and eoslflare.io) reveal that Tron Mainnet has 305,727 accounts, while EOS Mainnet has 301413 accounts. So, Tron is slightly ahead of the EOS Mainnet as far as accounts are concerned.

One of the possible reasons for the sharp rise in Tron accounts is the GoSeedIt tipping platform which enables users on both Telegram and Twitter platforms to send micropayments in the form of TRX cryptocurrency. TRX tipping on the social media platform has been given the Twitter hashtag name #OperationTronStorm. Even the Pope was tipped in TRX through Twitter.

The GoSeedIt app was launched around 16th of August. At that time, the number of Tron accounts was only 66,206. So, it can be argued that the GoSeedIt app has successfully increased the Tron accounts by 360%.
