In a show of gratitude, Justin Sun, founder of Tron (TRX), has announced that TRON will airdrop 30M TRX to the Ethereum community. The airdrop is for the support shown to Tron during its ERC20 phase, in addition to preparing for the Super Representative Elections after mainnet launch. TRON will airdrop 30M TRX (equivalent to approx. USD$1.7M) to ~600,000 accounts that have a balance of over 0.1 ETH. Each account will receive an average of 50 TRX (a value between 10 TRX — 100 TRX will be randomly selected for each user).
Justin Sun appreciated Ethereum network for playing a vital role in its development. In appreciation of the support, Tron is conducting the airdrop event. Sun, however, pointed out that they were able to discover several issues and bottlenecks during their time on the Ethereum platform. As a person with progressive thoughts, Sun, along with his team of developers, has taken the path to resolve the issues. By providing TRX via airdrop, Tron believes the Etheeum community will have a chance to experience the higher TPS (Transactions per second) development platform and at the same time “use TRX to vote, becoming a part of the next generation decentralized network and the TRON democracy.”
#TRON wouldn’t be where we are today without #Ethereum. But we want to solve issues when we see them. Stay tuned for a $TRX airdrop today! Use #TRX to experience our high TPS platform & join the #TRON democracy—#ETH offers neither. https://t.co/zvQjnzO7Zu

Justin Sun and Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, were engaged in a bitter twitter fight a week before. The issue started when Sun listed the advantage of Tron over Ethereum. Buterin, responded with a sarcastic comment about plagiarism in Tron’s white paper. The airdrop can be seen as an effort by Sun to lure Ethereum supporters.
