The altcoin, which became famous after the hacking of Japanese cryptoexhange coincheck that saw $500mln worth NEM being stolen, has gained about 62% in the past week to trade at $0.09020.
The bull run started after Zeux, a FinTech firm based in London, revealed it would add NEM tokens (XEM) to its digital payment wallet to permit customers to pay vendors who use Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
Zeux offers the world’s first digital finance alternative for both digital and fiat currencies through Zeux app that will push extensive cryptocurrency acceptance into daily routine.
It also offers its clients with embedded investment offerings and levies no charges for payment, cryptocurrency exchange and transfers. On 23 May, XEM will be formally added to Zeux.
Speaking about the partnership, Jeff McDonald, Co-Founder of NEM Foundation said:
“The utilization of XEM as a payment option is an important part of the NEM blockchain. Partnerships like these are win-win opportunities to promote awareness and engagement in this industry. NEM Foundation wants to continue to cultivate collaborative engagements with all ecosystem partners across the world. We are looking forward to working with Zeux as integration with key payment platforms would position the utilization of digital currencies for mass adoption favorably.”
In the meantime, Frank Zhou, Founder and CEO of Zeux said:
“We’re excited to add NEM to our list of payments. NEM has been a major player in developing its easy-to-integrate blockchain protocol. Now NEM holders have added benefit with Zeux; allowing them to pay XEM tokens at any point-of-sale terminal with Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. This collaboration is another milestone in bringing the use of cryptocurrency and blockchain to everyday life”.
