The company has elaborated that it would continue to update its token wallet and global API, guaranteeing a broad synchronization with other apps in other ecosystems.
MetaMask further stated that it would remain devoted to openly publishing all code via a public repository.
As per MetaMask, coders who amend, copy or fork the Metamask sourcecode for commercial purposes are urged to ink an official commercial contract with the company.
MetaMask issued the following clarification:
“For example, if you’ve copied MetaMask and offer it commercially to an audience larger than 10,000 monthly active users, we would like to enter into a formal commercial agreement.”
MetaMask justified the initiative by stating that a reasonable fee generated through such dealings would enable them to continuously update the product offering, while maintaining high standards.
Notably, MetaMask rolled out eighth amendment of its Ethereum wallet last July, which include a lot of fresh features such as improved privacy control and a fresh account-login platform.
