Soon, Australian vehicle owners may be able to receive crypto tokens as rewards in designated petrol pumps. Australian blockchain firm Incent has announced a reward program under which vehicle owners who fill up their tanks at United Petrol stations will be offered 20% pay back on the value of fuel purchases in the form of INCNT token.
Interested vehicle owners have to enroll for the reward program by providing relevant details through the form provided on Incent’s web page and link their bank account for the purpose of receiving the tokens.
Incent asserts that its native crypto token is “Australia’s first cryptocurrency for all purchases at United Petrol stations.”
United Petrol owns and operates more than 450 fuel pumps throughout Australia. The advantage of the program over traditional reward points offered by the company is that the value of the INCNT token cannot be decreased or nullified by the firm.
Furthermore, no plastic cards are involved in the initiative.
Incent CEO Rob Wilson elaborated on the program as follows:
“Giving consumers something of real value rather than points that can expire or only be redeemed under strict conditions is one of Incent’s key differences. […] But it’s also what goes on under the bonnet that makes it truly compelling. Once a user has synced their bank account, rewards are issued automatically. […] Consumers can literally save as they spend, seamlessly.”
Anyone who has enrolled in the service and linked their bank account will automatically receive 20% of the total value of fuel purchase at United Petrol stations in the form of INCNT tokens. It can be remembered that a recent survey report on US consumer preferences indicated that 63% of the participants regard blockchain based tokens as an easy mode of payment.
