GDAX, which was launched in 2015, offers the much needed liquidity and stability in the cryptocurrency space. Furthermore, Coinbase has stated that GDAX enabled them to understand the specific needs of cryptocurrency traders.

Coinbase Markets
To a large number of cryptocurrency market participants, Coinbase already offers the deepest pool of liquidity. In the coming months, Coinbase Markets planst to introduce new features such as low latency performance, institutional connectivity and access, on-premise datacenter colocation services and settlement and clearing services. Coinbase believes that these features will result in the creation of a much more efficient price discovery mechanism, leading to narrow spreads and increased certainty of execution.
Coinbase Prime
The newly designed platform offers a wide range of tools and services which can be relied upon by institutional investors, while trading cryptocurrency. Going forward, Coinbase will offer lending and margin financing products to qualified clients, OTC trading, algorithmic orders, and advanced market data and research products. Platform improvements such as multi-user permissions and whitelisted withdrawal addresses are being planned as well.
