Futureverse, a company specializing in AI and metaverse technology, has formalized an agreement with Web3 firm PIP Labs, the primary contributor to Story, to develop an intellectual property (IP) framework utilizing blockchain technology. This partnership aims to integrate Futureverse’s extensive technology and IP portfolio, including assets tied to Ready Player One through Readyverse, into Story’s blockchain network.
Story operates as a dedicated Layer 1 blockchain designed to convert IP into programmable digital assets, offering creators and brands a decentralized solution for managing, licensing, and commercializing digital properties. The Root Network, a component of Futureverse’s ecosystem, is set to enhance interoperability, ensuring that digital assets retain value and accessibility across various platforms.
Traditionally, intellectual property has been managed through centralized systems that restrict the flexibility of creators in controlling and monetizing their content. As digital media continues to grow, ensuring transparent and enforceable IP ownership across multiple platforms has become increasingly crucial. This collaboration seeks to address these challenges by leveraging blockchain’s decentralized nature to provide a more open and creator-centric economic framework.
Under this partnership, Futureverse and PIP Labs will work together to integrate and monetize Futureverse’s extensive IP assets within Story’s blockchain ecosystem. Readyverse Studios, Futureverse’s dedicated IP licensing division, holds exclusive rights to major franchises, including Ready Player One/Two. This initiative will also explore the integration of Story-powered applications within Futureverse’s Readyverse platform, further enhancing cross-platform interoperability in metaverse experiences, gaming, and digital applications. Additionally, Futureverse’s Pass platform will be incorporated into the Story network to streamline user onboarding.
Futureverse’s leadership in AI-driven metaverse technology is underscored by its successful $54 million Series A funding round, which included investment from Ripple and 10T Holdings. Ernest Cline, co-founder of Readyverse Studios and the acclaimed author behind the Ready Player One/Two series, brings a strong narrative foundation to the partnership, reinforcing its technological and storytelling capabilities.
As part of the agreement, Futureverse and PIP Labs will collaborate to identify suitable IP assets for Story’s blockchain network, integrate Story-powered applications into the Readyverse Launcher, and establish ecosystem partnerships. This includes incorporating Story IP within Futureverse’s OP3N metaverse infrastructure and utilizing AI-generated characters from Sekai in Futureverse’s gaming environments.
Furthermore, Futureverse will leverage its advanced AI tools, such as Jen (a text-to-music generator), Altered State (a 3D generative AI tool), and the Universal Blueprint Framework (UBF), to enhance user-generated content across gaming and metaverse applications. These tools aim to drive the adoption of tokenized IP and establish greater interoperability within the Web3 ecosystem.
This collaboration marks a significant step in redefining digital ownership, positioning Futureverse and Story as leaders in the Web3-driven transformation of intellectual property management. By integrating blockchain and AI technologies, the initiative seeks to create a sustainable and transparent framework for IP monetization in the evolving digital landscape.
