EOS, however, saw a marked improvement in the points scored, with the crypto scoring 158.7, an increase from 145.6 in the previous month. Even though Ethereum continues to hold the second position, there is only a two gain for the cryptocurrency, which ended up with 139 points.
Nebulus lost its third-position to Komodo despite gaining about 2 points to end at 110.6. Komodo gained 10 points from previous month tally of 101.3 to close at 111.3.
Neo and Stellar continue to hold the fifth and sixth place with 107.40 and 106.10 points, respectively. Ripple is ranked 15th in the list with only 95.7 points. The applicability score of Ripple is only 8.80 points. This keeps Ripple outside the top ten.
Bitcoin, which ranked 16th in the July list, improved six places to end at 10th position with an overall score of 101.70 points. The technology, applicability and innovation score of Bitcoin was 46, 15.4 and 40.3, respectively. Notably, Bitcoin was given the lowest technology score among the top 20 coins.
The ranking list was prepared by the CCID (Qingdao) Blockchain Research Institute, jointly with the CCID ThinkTank, a subsidiary of the China Electronics and Information Industry Development Institute, and the China Software Testing Center.
The main aim of the ranking list is to scientifically validate the advancement level of global public blockchain networks and accurately infer the prevailing situation of the cryptocurrency market.
