The Netherlands based cryptocurrency platform Studio/Belfius has partnered with payment platform LimbU in Limburg (South of Holland) to develop a native cryptocurrency for encouraging community spirit.
The initiators of the venture put forward that the goal is to cheer sustainability, community assistance, encouragement of domestic produce, and the establishment of supply chains all the way through Limburg’s 10 local regions.
Limburg is the southernmost of the Netherlands ‘ 12 territories. It is in the southeastern portion of the nation, extending from the north to the south of the district of Gelderland, where it borders Belgium internationally.
The latest crypto currency “LimbU” has no fiat support but can be given to user wallets all through the province after domestic inhabitants have finished a variety of civically accountable actions such as waste collection, charity clothes, blood collection, minor repairs, first aid training or organic waste composting.
The aim is also to encourage companies, public authorities and associations to help build a “greener, more welcoming Limburg” through the scheme.
The project’s member Wim Van De Putte explains:
“It was not easy finding the right partner with the required experience and expertise. But from the very outset, Studio Innovation Lab impressed us with its ability to understand this complex issue and its willingness to meet the challenge. In fact, The Studio has its own scalable platform for creating a digital currency based on the blockchain.”
As the venture, Uitmuntend Limburg, develops in numbers, it intends to pass on to Limburg.net. and expand the range and capacity of activities around the province, particularly as thousands of Limburgers across the 10 districts own wallets. Ronny Neckebroeck from The Studio commented:
“We are honored to be part of such a beautiful project. Developing the platform and payment app is a major step forward along the way towards making the LimbU project a professional and sustainable initiative. Working with Uitmuntend Limburg, we will make the LimbU a success – we are sure of it. And our experience in innovative digital solutions and blockchain makes us the ideal partner for handling the technological side of this great story.”
At the start of this year, The Studio also created Pengo, an novel service that empowers people to remit payment requests via instant messaging platforms such as Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp.
The Netherlands is a leader in fast growing blockchain technology in Europe and frequently goes below the radar, but the Dutch government is no slouch when it comes to promoting the interests of companies adopting new technologies, particularly when such ventures profit the entire community such as Uitmuntend Limburg.
Holland is a nation with a social responsibility, and enactment over the years has outlined the scale to which its inhabitants are a receiver of the wish shown by the government to assist its society as a total.
