Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has already been widely denounced across the globe, with many hopeful that it would stop soon so that the world can move on. Ukraine, on the contrary, has different ideas and intends to make sure that Russia’s ignominy is remembered for ever. The nation has built an NFT gallery of conflict on Ethereum to commemorate its neighbor’s invasion.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation established the Meta History Museum of War, which is totally online and includes a library of NFTs. It details the happenings of the conflict between the two Eastern European countries, which began a month back and is still ongoing.0 the conflict has caused massive devastation, particularly in Kyiv, the capital, and some estimates suggest that Russia may well have suffered loss of up to 15,000 soldiers in Ukraine.
The exhibit has NFTs that begins at 5:45 a.m. local time February 24, when Russia proclaimed “a special military operation” in Donbas, Ukraine. The museum researched and arranged the war’s confirmed facts in time sequence. The organization then encouraged hundreds of Ukrainian people to produce artwork depicting the happenings. The information was subsequently stored as NFTs on the blockchain.
From Wednesday, March 30, 54 NFTs representing important events in the fight spanning February 24-26 will be offered for sale as NFTs, as per the museum’s website. The money will then be utilized to bolster the country’s armed forces in its efforts to hold Russian forces at bay, with some going to civilian aid. According to the museum, the goal is to permanently engrave Russia’s invasion.
“We shall not allow one day from this time frame to be erased from the record of global history.”
Nevertheless, there is a condition. When anyone purchases an NFT from the museum, they won’t have any idea about its contents until the payment is made. Apart from generating finances, the NFTs will be another attempt by Ukraine to bring attention to what is going on in the nation.
Despite the fact that hundreds of people have died in the conflict, practically nothing has been accomplished. Western and European nations have limited their measures to slapping sanctions on Russia, which have had very little impact on President Vladimir Putin’s determination. Then again, well before the conflict, Russia was subjected to a slew of penalties.
“The recklessness of the invader is a strong indication to the West that the sanctions placed on Russia are not adequate,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said of Western countries’ inactivity.
