Saudi Aims Blockchain Adoption Across 28 Airports

IR4LAB and Saudi Ground Services (SGS) announced at LEAP 2023 the adoption of DocCerts Blockchain management platform for all training-associated digital papers and ground service device licenses granted by SGS at 28 Saudi Arabian airports where SGS conducts ground handling services. The system using Blockchain technology will let SGS to generate more than 10,000 electronic files yearly, including licenses.

Airport ground services facilitate flight operations. These facilities offer passenger services, luggage management, scaling, traffic management, load control, and fleet facilities, among other functions. As per Expert Market Research, the worldwide Airport Ground Market Size will expand at a CAGR of 10.40% from 2023 to 2028.

Annually, SGS provides services to more than 88 million passengers on 690,000 flights.
