In a media release, blockchain firm Animoca Brands, holding company of TSB Gaming, disclosed that the partnership will result in the development of 3D voxel variant of prominent Atari game assets.
The assets include Centipede, Asteroids, RollerCoaster Tycoon and Pong.
The Sandbox will provide clients three distinct features aided by technological advancement. Firstly, a platform for creating non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and in-game voxel assets, a marketplace for trading the aforementioned assets, and a game developer tool for clients to build, distribute and commercialize interactive games.
As per the terms of partnership, Atari will be awarded massive digital “estates” inside The Sandbox gaming environment. These digital estates are in short supply and gamers will gain access to 3D voxelized variants of traditional Atari games.
Estates can be setup by clustering LAND tokens, which can also be bought by players to function as venues for building and rolling out standalone games.
Overall, 166,464 LANDs will be offered by The Sandbox and sport along with in-game digital assets and indigenous SAND tokens.
Under The Sandbox framework, a recreation park resembling multiverse will also consist of several Atari game titles, in addition to Atari subjected digital allurements, buildings and other goods.
Users can interact socially with Avatar personalities and take part in the game together in deeply engaging gaming experiences.
The partnership between Atari, creator of prominent video games such as Pac Man and Tetris, and Animoca Brands has been in place for a while.
Earlier in March, The Sandbox revealed that its third advance sale of the game’s digital space (LANDs), scheduled for March 31, is backed by renowned names such as Square Enix, Mindfulness Capital, B Cryptos and True Global Ventures.
As of date, The Sandbox has been downloaded 40 million times and amassed more than 1,300 Ether (ETH) from the first and second LAND presales.
