Sacramento Kings Basketball Team Partners With CryptoKaiju To Introduce Crypto Collectibles

The NBA basketball team Sacramento Kings has joined hands with CryptoKaiju to introduce a range of crypto collectibles. CryptoKaiju currently offers Ethereum blockchain based Kaiju toys.

All through the 2019-20 basketball seasons, both companies intend to hand over 100 limited issue Kaiju collectible toys.

A non-fungible token backs each collectible, implying that no two collectibles are similar. Furthermore, 15 of aforementioned collectibles will carry a reward in the form of courtside seats, signed merchandize and VIP tours, among others. Sacramento Kings CTO Ryan Montoyo stated:

“We are thrilled to bring these unique, limited-edition collectibles and immersive experience to our fans. We are always looking for ways to be on the leading-edge of enhancing fan interaction, and this partnership with CryptoKaiju is an exciting opportunity to continue to employ technology that delivers innovative products and content to our fans.”

The partnership has come a week after the NBA basketball team announced the launch of a rewards program, powered by blockchain, via its gaming app Call the Shot. The rewards program will be available in the forthcoming season.

Notably, through collaboration with cryptocurrency payment processor BitPay, in 2014, the NBA basketball team turned out to be the first sports team to accept Bitcoin (BTC) by the store offering goods related to the team. In August 2019, the Dallas Mavericks began accepting BTC as a mode of payment for goods and match tickets.
