Opera Browser Facilitates Crypto Purchase via Apple Pay & Debit Card

Opera browser is facilitating cryptocurrency buying to residents of the US as the company is making attempts to improve its Web 3.0 track record.

The Norwegian company has entered into an agreement with Wyre, a US regulatory authority endorsed money remittance firm proactive in the crypto domain, to facilitate the US clients to purchase Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) straightaway from the crypto wallet embedded in mobile and desktop version of Opera browser.

While Android users can utilize debit cards, Apple iOS based gadget users can use Apple Pay for purchase.

Users residing in Norway, Sweden and Denmark have been facilitated with buying cryptos using mobile browser, referred to as Opera for Android or Opera Touch in case of iOS (Apple Store).

Opera spokesperson has stated that the easy crypto purchase facility will soon be available to residents of other countries.

Opera commands only a market share of 0.48% in the US, as per data provided by Statcounter.

In Europe, it is slightly better with a market share of 2.12%. As per Opera, 320 million people use its browser and artificial intelligence based content delivery solutions.

Opera also asserts that its Apple Pay solution permits users to switch “from zero to crypto in less than 30 seconds”.

Charles Hamel, head of crypto at Opera, explained the benefits of the facility offered:

“In the past, obtaining cryptocurrencies was a cumbersome process that took hours or even days. When you compare it with this seamless solution, which takes less than 30 seconds, it really is a gamechanger.”

The Nasdaq listed firm elaborates that it aims to identify methods to remove limitations related to mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.

Even though Opera has been available in various forms for 24 years, it is trying to make itself distinct from other browser providers such as Firefox, Chrome and Safari by incorporating Web 3.0 features such as DApp explorer and cryptocurrency wallet, in addition to tools for maintaining privacy and staying secure.

The crypto supporting Brave browser has gained considerable users since its launch with features comparable with that of Opera.

Notably, Brave claimed to have 10 million monthly active users at the end of December 2019.
