Number One YouTuber PewDiePie Collaborates With Blockchain Livestreaming Platform

PewDiePie, the public persona around the most subscribed YouTube channel, will begin playing on blockchain powered video platform DLive from April 14. The “exclusive live platform” for Swedish Youtuber Felix Kjellberg, popularly known as PewDiePie, will be a blockchain-propelled broadcast-app that comprises a bonus scheme for content creators.

DLive, which is based on decentralized Lino blockchain protocol, claims that both content creators and viewers can receive benefits in the form of Lino Token, the Lino blockchain’s native cryptocurrency, for their involvement in content production and consumption. DLive currently has over 3 million vibrant monthly users and 35,000 enthusiastic streamers, according to the press release.

PewDiePie reaffirmed the development on his YouTube channel on 9 April, stating that DLive matches him very well because he is “treated like a real partner.” PewDiePie, which was launched in 2010 as a gaming and comedy channel with over 93 million signups and 21 billion YouTube views in April 2019, is the top subscribed and the tenth best watched channel on YouTube.

The move follows a latest campaign to ban PewdiePie from YouTube, alleged to have been running “one of the largest platforms for white supremacist content.” The petition was supposedly written after PewDiePie’s channel was mentioned by the gunman of Christchurch before his shocking assault on two of the New Zealand mosques.

Regarding the petition, Kjellberg contended that the charges on him are “blatantly misrepresenting and misinforming people,” adding that most of them are “just flat out lies.” Of late, the Twitch video service owned by Amazon has eliminated Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) as method of payment for subscriptions.

On April 4th, AltDex, a crypto index provider unveiled a gaming related crypto index to monitor cryptocurrencies and coins from blockchain ventures related to video games, sports, and other comparable decentralized applications.
