Nissan Trials Metaverse Showroom for Queries and Purchases

In collaboration with Nissan Tokyo Sales Holdings Co., Nissan Motor Co. is experimenting with a retail location for its automobiles in the metaverse. Customers must visit the virtual reality emporium using computerized alter personalities on their smartphones and computers in order to discuss and view models they wish to purchase.

Nissan seeks to attract youthful car purchasers who visit physical dealerships less frequently. Nissan intends to maintain the outlet until June 30. The digital showroom provides 360-degree views of four models, including the electric vehicle (EV) Ariya and the sports car Fairlady Z.

Users can alter the exterior and interior color schemes of the vehicles. The website offered two models for purchase: the Sakura electric micro vehicle and the X-Trail sport utility vehicle.

Registration is required for store access. Primarily, only residents of Tokyo are eligible to purchase vehicles. The virtual universe was created using technology provided by Epic Games Inc., the U.S.-based developer of the internationally renowned video game Fortnite.
