Lickd, the ‘go-to’ platform for assisting content creators legitimately utilize the music they love, has inked a sole agreement with the metaverse district Vegas City within Decentraland. As part of this deal, Lickd will offer commercial music to Vegas City’s partners and tenants.
The partnership will last for twenty-four months, during which time Lickd will provide curated playlists and genre-specific ‘radio channels’ for inclusion in Vegas City’s music player. This player is responsible for providing music for the background in venues and public spaces located all across the district and Decentraland. Because of this arrangement, all of the venues in Vegas City will finally have access for the first time to commercial music that is available in the metaverse.

Lickd is the only music licensing service that comes pre-cleared and is designed for social video makers. The platform makes available for licensed use on YouTube and other user-generated content websites music that has been released by both independent and large record companies. Lickd is energizing the music-maker sector with a slew of new business options because it is making licensed music available to nearly everyone. Previously, obtaining licensed music was only the purview of professional production businesses. Following Epic Games’ investment in the firm in 2021, Lickd has taken another leap into the metaverse by forming this collaboration with Vegas City.
