LG Uplus Corporation will release a metaverse platform designed specifically for small children. The course is aptly named “Kidstopia” and will include assessments, animal facts, English lessons, and much more.
LG Uplus’s trademark characters, “Yuppi and Associates” and “Holeman,” will function as Autonomous companions in the metaverse space. Once the children step into the digital world, AI Holeman will deliver the English phrases and vocabulary to them, while AI Pinky will administer the assessments.
The novel Kidstopia metaverse platform from LG Uplus will enable kids to communicate with one another. Utilizing avatars, they can study about dinosaurs as well as other species while navigating the digital space.
The mobile network company will also incorporate profanity-filtering capabilities in order to render the metaverse platform completely child-supportive. Children who engage in inappropriate behavior while speaking and interacting with others will be reported by the system. Youngsters over the age of 12 can sign up for the open beta of Kidstopia, which will be released by LG Uplus. The platform will be released at the end of February, but no specific date has been provided.
Children can personalize their avatars by selecting the skin tone, hairstyle, eyes, and nose of their choice. Additionally, they can outfit their avatars with the available clothing on Kidstopia. Once their profiles are enabled, they can experience a variety of activities, such as dance activities, backpacking, and snowball fights.
According to the Korea Economic Daily, Kidstopia’s metaverse consists of two primary areas: the Central Plaza and the experiential learning space. The former seems to be where children can communicate and play utilizing their avatars with many other children after logging in. The other aspect is the educational aspect, where they’re able to gain a great deal of knowledge.
LG Uplus stated that Kidstopia was developed with input from 150 participants, including game publishers and education personnel. For extra protection and instruction, parents can completely supervise their children’s metaverse actions.
