Kakao and Naver to Form Unified Blockchain Ecosystem in Asia

South Korean tech giants, Kakao Corp. and Naver Corp., have collaboratively decided to integrate their blockchain networks, aiming to launch a mainnet that will establish a mega ecosystem representing the Asian region. The Klaytn Foundation and Finschia Foundation jointly announced the successful approval of the proposal to merge the Finschia and Klaytn networks through a governance vote.

 

High Approval Rates for Integration

 

The merger proposal received an overwhelming approval rate from members of both Finschia and Klaytn networks. Finschia’s members expressed a consensus with a 95 percent approval rate, while Klaytn’s members showed strong support with a 90 percent approval rate. This resounding approval sets the stage for a unified blockchain ecosystem that will be pivotal in promoting Web3.0 across Asia.

 

Objectives of the Unified Foundation

 

The integrated foundation, established in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where the Finschia Foundation is headquartered, will spearhead efforts to popularize Web3.0 as Asia’s largest blockchain ecosystem. The foundation aims to secure an extensive array of decentralized application (DApp) services, totaling 420, and will be supported by over 45 governance members. The collaborative initiative seeks to position itself as a key player in the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.

The decision to establish the merged foundation in Abu Dhabi underscores the strategic importance of the location, aligning with the base of the Finschia Foundation.
