Kadena Partners with Ownera to Transform Tokenized Asset Ecosystems

kadena partners with ownera to transform tokenized asset ecosystems

Kadena, a scalable Layer-1 Proof of Work (PoW) blockchain, has announced a strategic collaboration with Ownera, a fintech company that facilitates the distribution and trading of tokenized assets through its global interconnectivity network. This partnership aims to merge Kadena’s blockchain technology with tokenization applications, leveraging Ownera’s FinP2P routers to integrate blockchain solutions with traditional financial systems.

The alliance is seen as a significant step toward bridging the gap between blockchain and traditional finance (TradFi), particularly in the areas of real-world assets (RWAs) and tokenized money market funds. By integrating decentralized applications with conventional financial structures, the partnership is expected to advance the adoption of blockchain technology within institutional finance.

Unlocking Institutional-Grade Blockchain Solutions

Through this partnership, Kadena’s blockchain network will be connected to Ownera’s ecosystem, offering secure, scalable, and energy-efficient solutions to financial institutions using Ownera’s FinP2P routers. The integration supports Kadena’s vision of expanding its services to institutional partners and interconnecting blockchain systems with financial applications.

Kadena’s Chief Business Officer highlighted that Ownera’s network includes major financial institutions, providing Kadena with the opportunity to become a preferred blockchain partner for sell-side institutions. By integrating Kadena’s infrastructure with tokenization applications, the platform ensures these institutions benefit from secure and scalable blockchain technology.

Kadena’s PoW blockchain employs a unique architecture that offers both energy efficiency and high scalability, making it well-suited for institutional-grade applications. Its smart contract language, Pact, is designed to enhance security and simplify the development of scalable decentralized applications.

Phased Integration and Future Use Cases

The initial phase of the partnership focuses on integrating Kadena into a tokenization application within Ownera’s sandbox environment, setting the stage for future production-grade implementations. As this integration evolves, Ownera’s participants, including banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions, will gain access to Kadena’s blockchain infrastructure.

Ownera’s CEO emphasized the growing interest among major institutions in leveraging public blockchain technologies for tokenization solutions. This partnership allows institutional investors to access assets such as money market funds, real estate, and debt instruments. The collaboration aims to empower Ownera’s clients to utilize Kadena’s blockchain in applications connected to its routers.

The second phase of the partnership will explore additional use cases to align Kadena’s infrastructure with the evolving needs of Ownera’s router users. Both companies are committed to fostering institutional adoption of blockchain and advancing the development of tokenized asset ecosystems.

Kadena’s Unique Offering

Kadena’s PoW Layer-1 blockchain is recognized for its scalability, security, and decentralized nature. Its robust infrastructure supports high-value systems built with Pact, a security-focused smart contract language. Established in 2017 by Stuart Popejoy and Will Martino, former J.P. Morgan blockchain developers, Kadena aims to accelerate blockchain adoption by addressing real-world challenges with its Web3 platform.

Ownera, a key player in tokenized asset interconnectivity, provides routers that enable global distribution and liquidity by connecting tokenized assets distributed by sell-side institutions with buy-side demand. These routers facilitate the negotiation, orchestration, and settlement of transactions between counterparties and their regulated service providers, including custodians, broker-dealers, and lenders.

Ownera’s open FinP2P protocol underpins its interconnectivity solutions. The company is backed by strategic investors such as J.P. Morgan, U.S. Bancorp, and Draper Goren Holm, further solidifying its position as a leader in the tokenized asset ecosystem.
