Blockchain gaming and technology company Horizon has announced a partnership with Ubisoft for the launch of Ubisoft’s first web3 game, Champions Tactics. This collaboration aims to leverage Horizon’s Sequence tech stack to significantly enhance the game’s overall experience.
The Sequence tech stack is set to play a crucial role in several key areas. It will facilitate the connection of external wallets to the game, ensuring seamless integration for players who already possess digital wallets. Additionally, it will create embedded wallets for players who do not yet have one. Horizon asserts that these Sequence Embedded Wallets boast a transaction conversion rate that is double that of non-Sequence wallets.
Moreover, Sequence will power Champions Tactics’ zero-gas custom marketplace. This marketplace promises a trading experience akin to web2, thereby providing a seamless and uninterrupted gameplay experience. The game, set in the dark world of Grimoria, is a PC turn-based RPG and marks Ubisoft’s entry into the blockchain gaming space. It will be deployed on the Japanese gaming blockchain Oasys L2 Homeverse.
Minting NFTs for Champions Tactics
Champions Tactics is currently utilizing Horizon’s Sequence technology to mint its Champion NFTs, which will serve as playable characters within the game. Ownership of a Champion NFT comes with multiple benefits, including VIP status, in-game bonuses, and other exclusive rewards.
The game has a total supply of 75,000 NFTs. The initial free private mint is now live and available to Warlord holders, with nearly 30,000 NFTs already minted.
