Gunzilla Games, a prominent Web3 game studio and developer of the GUNZ blockchain, has announced the integration of Fireblocks, a leading enterprise platform designed for building blockchain applications and managing digital asset operations, into its infrastructure. This integration marks a significant milestone in Gunzilla’s efforts to enhance its blockchain ecosystem.

As a result of this integration, institutional holders of GUN tokens and GUNZ Validator NFTs will now be able to manage their assets more effectively using the Fireblocks platform. The GUNZ Validator NFTs, which enable players to mint new in-game non-fungible tokens (NFTs), allow validators to earn commissions in the native GUN token through the minting and trading of transactions. Additionally, Fireblocks’ enterprise non-custodial wallets-as-a-service (WaaS) will now be available to integrate with GUNZ, offering a non-custodial option for all current and future users of the GUNZ Wallet. This feature ensures that GUNZ users retain full ownership of their in-game assets across all games built on the GUNZ chain, with the testnet already boasting over 800,000 wallets.

Gunzilla Games’ CEO, Vlad Korolov, expressed his excitement about the completion of the GUNZ integration with Fireblocks. He highlighted that this development would facilitate institutional clients in managing their GUN tokens and GUNZ Validator NFTs through Fireblocks’ enterprise-grade platform, known for its multi-layer security. Korolov also noted that the integration offers a non-custodial option for GUNZ users, thereby enhancing the digital economy within the GUNZ platform. He emphasized the pride in collaborating with Fireblocks to establish a foundational element as they aim to set a new standard for blockchain-enabled games.

GUNZ is a blockchain-based digital economy platform built on a custom Avalanche Subnet, designed to empower game developers to create player-driven economies with complete player ownership of in-game assets, such as tradeable NFTs. The first project to launch on GUNZ will be Gunzilla Games’ highly anticipated cyberpunk-style battle royale game, Off The Grid, set to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S within the year.

Gunzilla Games plans to make its software development kit (SDK) and white-label components available to other game developers interested in launching their own gaming projects on the GUNZ platform. This move is expected to attract a broader range of developers and foster the growth of a more diverse gaming ecosystem on GUNZ.

Omer Amsel, head of Web3 at Fireblocks, shared that the collaboration with Gunzilla Games is aimed at creating a seamless Web3 onboarding experience for Web2 users, while ensuring a secure environment for gamers’ assets. By integrating Fireblocks’ non-custodial wallets into the GUNZ platform, players will have complete ownership of their in-game assets, granting them full autonomy to buy, sell, or trade in-game items with ease, thus enhancing the overall gaming experience.

This announcement follows Gunzilla Games’ recent integration with OpenSea, a major NFT marketplace, and the successful completion of a $30 million funding round co-led by CoinFund and Avalanche Foundation’s Blizzard Fund, with additional participation from Republic Capital and Morningstar Ventures.

Founded in 2020 and based in Kyiv, Gunzilla Games is the developer and publisher behind the upcoming battle royale game Off The Grid. The company aims to leverage blockchain technology to create innovative gaming experiences and establish a new benchmark for the industry.

Fireblocks, known for its secure infrastructure for moving, storing, and issuing digital assets, provides a robust platform that enables exchanges, lending desks, custodians, banks, trading desks, and hedge funds to securely scale their digital asset operations through its network and MPC-based Wallet Infrastructure.

With this integration, Gunzilla Games and Fireblocks are set to revolutionize the management of digital assets within the gaming industry, offering both institutional and individual users enhanced security, autonomy, and a more seamless gaming experience.
