Ducati, the esteemed motorcycle brand, is preparing to enter the web3 space by introducing its first collection of NFT (non-fungible token) collectibles on the XRP Ledger, a blockchain technology developed by Ripple. The announcement comes more than a year after Ducati initially revealed its plans to adopt web3 technology.
The timing of the launch is of particular significance, as it closely follows a recent legal triumph for Ripple in the United States. However, the exact relationship between this ruling and Ducati’s NFT debut remains unclear.
The highly anticipated debut of the Ducati collectible is set for July 26th. This exclusive release will showcase a captivating video history that highlights the iconic Ducati logos prominently displayed on the tanks of motorcycles manufactured since 1946. As is customary in NFT releases, individuals who are early adopters of this initial collectible will be granted priority access to future project releases. However, Ducati has not yet disclosed specific details regarding their future plans for NFTs.
