Deloitte, a prominent professional services firm, has announced a strategic partnership with Chainalysis, a leading crypto analytics company. This collaboration aims to bolster Deloitte’s clients’ abilities in blockchain tracking and analysis. The partnership, which was unveiled at a Chainalysis conference in Washington DC, seeks to provide Deloitte’s clients with comprehensive support in the areas of cryptocurrency forensics, investigations, and compliance. This will be achieved through the utilization of Chainalysis’ blockchain datasets, advanced analytics software, and specialized training programs.
Thomas Stanley, the President and Chief Revenue Officer of Chainalysis, has emphasized that the collaboration is centered around shared clients, which include law enforcement agencies, regulators, and financial institutions. The alliance initially focuses on targeting the United States, with plans to expand its reach to global markets in the future.
The document provided by Deloitte presents an overview of the alliance, shedding light on the various obstacles encountered by government agencies. These challenges encompass concerns related to cryptocurrency transactions and the complexities associated with accessing information from foreign exchanges, primarily due to the diverse international regulatory framework. The collaboration with Chainalysis aims to ascertain the individuals responsible for transactions and take legal action against them. This includes the ability to track the movement of funds to entities that pose a high risk or have been subjected to sanctions.
