In the past few weeks, by joining hands with travel booking agent Agoda, Travala.com has included another 600,000 hotels to its accommodation and travel platform that accepts cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment.
Juan Otero, CEO of Travala highlighted that the number of hotels listed on the platform has crossed 2.20 million. He said
“We can safely say we are the world’s largest blockchain-based online travel agency by number of accommodation options available with over 2,200,000 options to book covering 90,124 destinations.”
With annual revenue of $1.20 billion, tourism industry giant Agoda, as per company info provider Owler, has more than 4,300 staffs.
Notably, Travala.com had entered into a similar partnership with Expedia early last month. Expedia also boasts of significant number of hotels listed on its e-commerce webpage. Last November, the company also inked a comparable deal with Booking.com. With the deal in place, bookings through the platform surged 68% soon.
Back in May, Travala.com, which was running only an accommodation booking platform, merged with TravelByBit, a flight booking service that accepts crypto payments.
