Croatian Post Unveils Trial Program for Crypto-to-Fiat Exchange

The Croatian Post collaborated with Electrocoin to operate a pilot program in the town of Zadar for a crypto-fiat exchange. It is reported that the pilot project will facilitate crypto owners to exchange Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Stellar (XLM), XRP and EOS for fiat money in one of the local branches of the Croatian Post, as per a postal service announcement on July 24.

To measure customer enthusiasm in the facility, the pilot program is presently accessible at three post offices in Zadar. Eventually, the Croatian Post seeks to extend the service across Croatia to significant towns and tourist centres.

The crypto-to-cash system has been operating since July 15, as per the study. Electrocoin, an affiliate of the Croatian Post, has been operating its Bitcoin brokerage for five years, as per the official news release.

Electrocoin facilities are accessible all across the European Union as per the company’s web page. In February, Lichtenstein’s national postal service, Liechtensteinische Post AG, revealed its aim to deliver cryptocurrency exchange facilities at their physical locations.

The regional director of postal services in Liechtenstein, Gustav Gstoehl, informed that the program was a hit in July.

The system is allegedly being further developed by the Liechtensteinische Post by raising the regular exchange cap from 1,000 Swiss francs ($1,009) to 20,000 francs ($20,189) and extending to more places.

It can be remembered that a range of blockchain-certified collectible stamps was issued in June by the Austrian Post. Presumably, these stamps are the world’s first crypto-collectible stamps and were released in two concomitant versions— a practical stamp styled with the Ethereum unicorn, and a stamp authenticator consisting of a QR code.
