Argentina’s IOV Labs, Grupo Sabra Unveil Blockchain-as-a-Service after Ventures with Central Bank, Gas Network

Argentina based blockchain firms IOV Labs and Grupo Sabra revealed their collaboration in establishing an enterprise blockchain joint venture Extrimian. Both firms have worked together on ventures with the central bank of Argentina and operator of a key gas network.

Extrimian provides a novel cloud based Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform which is focused on enterprises, startups and also government.

The platform, named ‘RSK Enterprise Cloud,’ facilitates users to develop decentralized apps and deploy consortium networks at a rapid pace. Extrimian asserts that such a process will preserve time and money, paving way for users to concentrate more on business.

Notable RSK Enterprise Cloud attributes include the capability to bring together IT platforms and other networks. The BaaS service has the ability to work in numerous cloud habitats and is a totally administered offering.

IOV Labs, the latest member of the worldwide blockchain consortium Hyperledger, builds solutions based on smart contract platform RSK, which is safeguarded by the Bitcoin network.

Months before, both firms joined hands to finish a blockchain PoC (proof-of-concept) with the central bank of Argentina and an association made up of Banco Santander stock exchange BYMA and the Bank of the Province of Córdoba.

The venture deals with customer requests for denied direct debits. When a client has disagreement about a payment, banks call for interaction. Blockchain is utilized for such a messaging platform.

A few days before that, IOV Labs and Grupo Sabra rolled out Gasnet, a blockchain powered network for Argentina’s natural gas delivery system. Originally developed for gas dispensing behemoth Gasnor, which has nearly two million customers, gas supervisory authorities Enargas later started backing Gasnet’s countrywide adoption.

Ultimately, there is an aim to draw all nine gas dispensing enterprises in Argentina onto the blockchain platform. The network is hosted on the RSK Enterprise blockchain, documenting all dealings including certification of fresh gas installations and reconnection facilities. Through a common platform, Gasnet links clients, big gas distributors, gas installation firms and Enargas.
