The Algorand Foundation, in collaboration with the Taraba State Government, has launched a series of initiatives aimed at fostering blockchain technology adoption and accelerating digitization to boost economic growth and youth empowerment in Nigeria. The announcement was made during the conclusion of a Regional Hackathon event in Jalingo.
The Country Head of Algorand Foundation in Nigeria, Ben Onuoha, highlighted the hackathon as a pivotal educational program designed to encourage innovative solutions that could contribute to the development of both Taraba State and the country at large.

Onuoha commended Governor Agbu Kefas for establishing the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovations. He noted that this new ministry would play a crucial role in driving significant positive change for the youth in the region. He also urged young people in Taraba to take full advantage of the partnership and the opportunities presented, as these efforts were strategically designed to support their economic advancement.

The Taraba Commissioner for Digital Economy and Innovation, Gideon Nonso, underscored the state government’s commitment to nurturing local talent.
