Green Wallet, which is a mobile crypto wallet developed by BlockStream, a blockchain technology startup, is now compatible with the firm’s Liquid Network sidechain.
Using the Liquid sidechain, wallet users will be able to store, remit and receive Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC) and Issued Assets.
The Liquid Network project, initially mentioned in 2015 and unveiled in October 2018, intends to permit quicker Bitcoin (BTC) transactions between enterprises and individuals using the aforementioned features. Bitcoin transactions are carried out on side chain, where it transits as Liquid Bitcoin thereby offering better privacy.
“L-BTC transactions on Liquid also benefit from the latest Confidential Transaction technology, which ensures that key details of transactions are hidden by default. Third parties inspecting […] will be able to see the addresses the transaction was sent from and to, but not how much was sent, or even what was sent.”
Finally, along with L-BTC, Liquid side chain also facilitates trading of other tokenized assets such as securities and stablecoins. Notably, the wallet also supports iOS and Android devices via exclusive store, while guaranteeing the arrival of desktop functionality soon.
Of late, Blockstream unveiled a new tool that permits users to perform atomic swaps for Liquid network compatible assets.
