A new partnership has paved way for purchasing Bitcoin (BTC) in Australia’s post offices. Specifically, clients of Bitcoin.com.au, a local cryptocurrency exchange, will be able to buy Bitcoin at over 3,500 Australian Post offices.
Holger Arians, CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange, had detailed that he trusts the recently introduced mode of payment will make it easy for a section of people to invest in cryptocurrencies.
“For many people, paying for Bitcoin at an Australia Post office feels safer than transferring funds online — particularly for first-time buyers. We’re proud of this partnership and would like to thank Australia Post for their continued openness to new technologies.”
Notably, using the Blueshyft payment network, Bitcoin.com.au clients were able to purchase Bitcoin at 1,500 retail venues.
Blueshyft, founded by Synthetix’ Kain Warwick, also offers its services to several other cryptocurrency exchanges.
A rising number of physical venues now offer an opportunity for clients to buy cryptos. Of late, the number of Bitcoin ATM installations across the world crossed 8,000 units.
There is now a possibility to purchase Bitcoin for cash at over 20,000 retail venues throughout the US including 7-Eleven, Rite Aid and CVS. Last September, all 7-Eleven shops throughout the Philippines also began selling cryptocurrencies. At the start of 2019, several French tobacco stores did a similar thing.
