Tech Mahindra, one of the top tech companies in India, is collaborating with edtech firm Idealabs to provide certification courses on blockchain technology. The course will be taught partially online and the rest via in-person, on-campus classes.
Students who join the course will be taught about blockchain foundations, smart contracts, Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, and decentralized apps, among others.
Both firms aim to create a talent pool for blockchain sector such that it meets the increasing job requirements. The official web page devoted to blockchain courses indicates that there has been a 290% rise in the number of blockchain jobs in the past year.
In its statement, Tech Mahindra underlined the huge demand for blockchain.
“There is a huge demand for blockchain talent as the scope for the technology is very wide, touching a variety of sectors like finance, healthcare, manufacturing, education, retail and telecom.” Possibilities are, Tech Mahindra may hire the candidates who successfully complete the course.
Rajesh Dhuddu, Tech Mahindra’s blockchain leader, said “It will provide exciting learning opportunities for students and help Tech Mahindra with access to readily deployable resources on blockchain.”
Of late, several tech firms and universities across the globe have introduced new blockchain courses as the Covid-19 pandemic has increased the need for blockchain adoption and professionals in that domain.
In April, Australia based research university, RMIT, introduced two new blockchain technology courses in partnership with IBM. Likewise, a few days later, Canada’s York University School of Continuing Studies also announced the introduced two blockchain courses.
