A new smartphone from HTC with a midrange price point named the HTC Desire 20 Pro has been released in some areas. In a nutshell, it’s a phone that was designed just for the metaverse. The fact that it is compatible with HTC’s Viverse ecosystem and VR headsets like the Vive Flow is the primary unique selling proposition (USP) of the Desire 20 Pro.
You can “access metaverse communities [on it] via Viverse using your browser or combine it with Vive Flow to explore them in virtual reality,” according to HTC. The Desire 20 Pro was “built for immersive experiences in a world where the physical, digital, and virtual interact.”
The 20 Pro is also compatible with HTC’s Viverse Wallet, which enables users to manage their NFTs and cryptocurrencies directly from the device itself. The phone comes standard with a 6.6-inch 120Hz LCD display that has a hole-punch cutout and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. This is the primary piece of hardware included in the package (unspecified version).
It utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, which is accompanied by 8 gigabytes of random access memory and 128 gigabytes of storage space. This may be expanded upon.
The battery in the Desire 20 Pro has a capacity of 4,520 mAh, and it supports both rapid wired charging (up to 18 watts) and wireless charging (up to 15 watts). Additionally supported is wireless charging in the other direction. On the back of the device is a triple camera arrangement with a primary camera that has a resolution of 64 megapixels, an ultrawide camera that has 13 megapixels, and a depth sensor that has 5 megapixels. A selfie camera of 32 megapixels may be found on the front of the device.
The bundle comes complete with a rating of IPX7, 5G, and NFC, as well as a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for use with biometrics.
The HTC Desire 20 Pro will have a retail price of TWD 11,990 (about Rs 31,850) when it is released in Taiwan. In Europe, the price will be €459. (roughly Rs 38,300). While sales will begin on July 1 in Taiwan, August 1 is when the product will first be offered for purchase in Europe.
